ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE Aircraft List

Use a release-aware aircraft checklist for ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE covering airframes, MRP, upgrades, special weapons, and mission fit.

The aircraft list for ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE should help a player choose an airframe for a mission, not declare a permanent tier list before release. Official product material confirms multiple aircraft, mission-specific loadouts, upgrade parts, special weapons, and a hangar loop. It does not yet provide a complete Steam roster, exact statistics, MRP costs, or unlock order. Use this page as a lookup framework until the Windows build supplies those values.

Record one airframe as one evidence row

When the game is live, capture the aircraft name exactly as displayed, role or descriptive tags, available weapons, special weapon, upgrade slots, purchase or unlock condition, MRP cost if shown, and the date/build. Keep the source screen or official page attached to the note. A trailer silhouette is not enough to establish a roster entry, and an aircraft shown in a bonus package is not automatically part of the base game’s normal campaign path.

The ACE COMBAT 8 official product page is useful for announced aircraft and customization context. The Steam Store listing anchors the base-game identity at AppID 2288340. If a name appears only in community coverage, label it Community corroborated and wait for the live menu or an official source before treating it as final.

Choose by mission demand

An aircraft’s value depends on the objective. An air-to-air encounter asks different questions from a ground-attack phase, an escort, a high-speed interception, or a weather-obscured search. Read the Campaign Walkthrough objective first, then choose the airframe whose control feel and available weapon fit that demand. A strong statistic is not a substitute for a loadout that the pilot can aim and recover with.

For a first attempt, record why the choice was made: stable handling, target type, special weapon coverage, speed, survivability, or familiarity. After the mission, compare the result to the reason. This creates useful evidence for a later recommendation and avoids repeating “best plane” claims that hide the difficulty, objective, and platform.

Treat MRP and upgrades as separate decisions

MRP is a progression and spending question; an upgrade part is an aircraft configuration question. Record the cost, the menu location, the affected property, and whether the part is available immediately or behind a condition. Do not turn an upgrade description into an exact percentage unless the game shows that percentage and the build is named.

Spend only after identifying the bottleneck. If the aircraft cannot reach the target, a speed or acceleration option may be relevant; if the pilot cannot keep a lock, handling or weapon behavior may matter more. Those are decision examples, not promises about a particular part. The Systems hub covers campaign progression, choices, and cloud/achievement boundaries so this list can remain focused on aircraft.

Special weapons need a purpose note

Special weapons are announced as part of mission loadouts. For each weapon, record target type, lock or aim behavior, ammunition presentation, range or timing information shown in-game, and the situations where it helps. Do not invent a complete effectiveness ranking from a trailer. A special weapon that is excellent for a formation may be a poor choice for a mission that requires precise single-target control.

Also record whether the weapon is tied to the airframe, unlocked through a tree, bought with MRP, or granted by an edition or bonus. Edition entitlements belong in Editions and Bonuses; they should not be mixed into the normal aircraft list. Package IDs and Steam AppIDs must remain separate.

Validate unlocks and roster changes

When an aircraft becomes available, capture the trigger and the screen where it appears. Test whether a replay, choice, difficulty, or campaign branch changes the requirement. If a patch adds or rebalances an aircraft, keep the old value in a dated update note and label the current one by version. Never erase a build-specific statistic without preserving its scope.

The public game is still Coming Soon, so this page intentionally has no fabricated roster table. Official announcements, the Bandai Namco walkthrough, and the official gameplay system page were checked on 2026-08-09 UTC. Use the Aircraft hub for the category overview, then add rows only when an exact source supports them.
